The Metropolitan Championships is an Open Event conducted under Archery Australia and Archery NSW rules. This year, competitors will be grouped into Division 1, 2 or 3 based on their current rating.
This event is limited to 78 competitors. Entries close on 3 April 2026 or earlier if capacity is reached.
Venue
Northern Beaches Cromer Camps, Cnr Inman Road & South Creek Road, Dee Why West – gate entry is via Inman Road.
The Warringah Archers banner will identify entry point.
Divisions
There will be only 3 divisions on offer as per classifications. Both Archery Australia & Archery NSW rankings should be taken into consideration when entering the competition in the correct division, there are no separate age divisions catered for. Whichever rating is the highest will be used. It is the responsibility of registrants to ensure that they enter the correct division.
Division Numbers
Division Numbers: 1st/2nd/3rd award placings only will apply to those divisions that have a minimum of 5 archers.
If 2 archers compete, 1st place only will be awarded, if 3 archers compete, 1st & 2nd will be awarded.
Please refer to the tables below on this page to ascertain which division you will compete in.
How do I Look up my Ranking for the Event?
Firstly, your handicap insn’t your rating, so please don’t use that as a reference for your event division.
If you hold both an Archery Australia rating and an Archery NSW rating, you must reference whichever rating is higher. For example, if your 50+ rating is higher than your Open rating, then the higher rating must be used. Similarly, if your RGB rating differs from your National rating, you must use the higher of the two.
So head along to Archers Diary and look up your RGB Rankings or your National Rankings and reference the highest value of your class/rating combination.
Teams Event
Included in this tournament is a Teams Event and is taken from the highest score of 2 Male & 1 Female registered to Archery NSW through the same one club. You do not need to register for a Teams Event, it will be automatic. There will be a Compound / Recurve & Barebow Perpetual trophy up for presentation.
