Welcome to Our Beginners Courses

Warringah Archers host Beginners courses made up of 3 or 4 x 2 hour lessons.

It is advisable to participant in at least one Come-N-Try lesson, before commencing the 3 week course.

Week 4 is an optional day shooting with club members (timing is different, and you will be advised once course commences).

What you will learn:

  • Safety (equipment safety, individual safety and range)
  • Warm-Up & Cool-down Exercises
  • Target Set-up/Take Down:
  • Set-Up Equipment
  • Selection of Arrows
  • Basics of archery, from which a style can be developed from
  • Stance (variances of each)
  • Bow Hand
  • Draw Hand
  • Pre Draw / Draw
  • Anchor
  • Hold & Aim
  • Release & Follow through (Dance a jig as arrow fizzes into the gold)

Venue:Northern Beaches Cromer Campus,
Corner of South Creek Rd & Inman Road,
Dee Why West.
Time:Each Lesson goes for 2 hours, from 9.00 AM to 11.00 AM.
Timing can vary, so please check when you register for the event.
Please be onsite by at least 15 minutes prior to session commencing, so we can start on time.

These courses will continue even in wet weather, dress accordingly.
Cost:$140.00 per person.
Equipment:You do not have to have your own equipment, the above fee includes all equipment necessary for the duration of the course.

What age do I have to be?Warringah Archers will accept juniors as young as 6 years of age, there is no limit to age, so our more senior members of the public are most welcome.
What do I need to wear?Closed shoes are important, no open footwear is allowed.
T/Shirt or long sleeved shirt preferably with a collar,  nothing too baggy (like puffer jackets) that will get in the way of a string being released.
A hat.
Water bottle (if none available, water can be purchased at the club).
MOST IMPORTANT a SMILE.

In Wet Weather, please ensure that you wear appropriate clothing.
