DESCRIPTION:Warringah Archers 2026 KidBow Tournament \nWarringah Archers will host the 2026 KidBow Tournament on Saturday 7 November 2026 at the Warringah Archers Club Grounds\, Northern Beaches Campus\, Dee Why West. \nThis youth target event is designed to encourage junior archers to keep building their competition skills while giving developing archers the opportunity to experience a structured tournament in a friendly club environment. The event is also part of the Archery NSW Youth Series. \nArchers will shoot a Newcastle Round\, consisting of 90 arrows at 20 metres on a 122cm target face. The round is shot as 15 ends of six arrows\, with a short break after every five ends. \nOnly a small number of junior compound archers have achieved the perfect score of 900 in this event. Could 2026 produce the next one? Could this be the year a recurve archer becomes the first to do it? \nEvent details \nDate: Saturday 7 November 2026\nRound: Newcastle — 90 arrows at 20m on a 122cm face\nEntry fee: $30 per participant\nVenue: Northern Beaches Campus\, corner of South Creek Road and Inman Road Reserve\, Dee Why West\nRegistration: 8:00am\nEquipment inspection: 8:15am\nFirst arrow: 8:30am\nEntries close: 24 October 2026 \nA canteen will operate throughout the day. \nAwards \nAwards will be presented for 1st\, 2nd and 3rd place in each eligible age group and discipline. \nAn All Gold Range Medal will also be recognised if an archer shoots five consecutive ends of six arrows\, with all arrows scoring within the required gold bracket. \nAn All Distance Gold Medallion will be recognised if an archer completes the full round with every arrow scoring a 9 or 10. \nKnockout competition \nA knockout competition will be held while scores and placings are being checked. The course runs over three or four weekly sessions\, each lasting two hours\, and is designed for those who have completed at least one Come N Try session or have equivalent exposure to archery basics. \nAcross the course\, you’ll cover range safety\, equipment handling\, warm-up and cool-down routines\, and the fundamentals of target archery. Instruction focuses on building a repeatable shot process\, including stance\, bow hand\, draw\, anchor\, aim\, release\, and follow-through\, along with practical skills such as target set-up\, arrow selection\, and basic equipment care. \nAn optional fourth session provides the opportunity to shoot alongside club members under normal club conditions. This session runs at a different time\, and details are provided during the course. On completion\, participants will have the knowledge required to select and maintain basic equipment\, understand scoring\, and continue shooting safely and confidently at club level.
